One Life to Give

Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. James 4:13-14

Each of us has only one life to give. We do not know when that life will be taken away from us. As Christians, we need to be doing God’s business everyday of our lives. You may not realize it, but each one of us has a ministry from God. We may not be called to the pulpit, to teach, or to play an instrument or sing, but each one of us has people that only we can reach on a daily basis. The Bible says our life is like a vapor. Here today and gone tomorrow. With that in mind, we need to be doing all we can to reach the lost.
In 2010, our WM group started a prayer box, where we wrote our 10 most wanted things from God in 2010. As I look back over the list it is amazing how many prayers God has answered. We have seen over a 100 people receive Salvation in the last three years at our small country church. I believe what we saw in 2010 and 2011 is going to be nothing compared to what we will see in 2012.
As I look back on 2011, I can see many answered prayers from God. There are three that stick out the most in my mind. The first one is my brother, Jubil, was saved. The second was he didn’t die in July. The third was that God revived a calling He had on my life. I am so humbled by the fact that God would care enough about me to send encouragement, comfort and love when I needed it most. 2011 was a year for God to put me back on the right track so I can fulfill my destiny. 2012 is going to be different.
As I look ahead to 2012 my hopes and prayers are that God will begin to use me in more ways. I’m praying doors will open and at the end of 2012 I can look back and just be in awe at what God has done for His Glory. My prayer is just simply use me God.
Each of us only has one life to give. How will you use that life in 2012?
